H&M Shoe Haul

Yeah, it happened. The other day while I was engaging in my mundane activities I decided to check on the cyber world. I was catching up on some Youtube videos when I found out that online shopping is now available on the H&M site. For those who didn't know, in the U.S we did not have the option to shop H&M online. I love a majority of H&M clothing. I think they're reasonably priced and good quality, although sometimes their stock is not my style; I love a good H&M visit. Because everyone within 10 miles of my town goes to the H&M in our mall I don't often stop by unless their stock is brand new or I'm in Ontario. So when I found out that I could buy online I was ecstatic I thought I'd check out their shoe section, and I feel in love. Sadly 3 of the other shoes I wanted ended up being removed from my order because they were out of stock in my size! Boo!

                                                            Black Platform Boots
I've never owned anything similar to these lovely boots. When I saw them, I knew I had to have them. The heel size made me skeptical, but I love the simplicity of the boots. I can wear them dressed up or even with jeans. In the end, I thought why not? I'm tall, not 6'0, but around 5'6 or 5'7, but I didn't want that to stop me from wearing heels & feeling good about myself. I've been hopping around the house with them, and they feel comfortable, we'll have to see how they test once I have an opportunity to wear them all day.
                                                            Gray Sneakers
Plain, I know but I really the standard gray sneakers for everyday wear. I like that they are high tops and I can easily arrange them into my wardrobe. I'm beginning to stray away from all of the Vans I own which is a good thing.

I'd highly suggest giving the H&M site a peak! They're shoes have been on point lately, and I blame my average feet size for the other shoes being out of stock :(. Let me know what kind of shoes you like to wear? I'm looking to buy more because you can never have enough shoes!

NOTD // Revlon Color Stay Nail Polish

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

(sorry for the change of lighting my camera was being difficult, but I learned a lot!)

Recently, I have fallen out of love with Essie nail polishes. They were my favorite last year and lately I can't be bothered to reach for them anymore. Instead I've been looking for new polishes to try, and have been loving Revlon Colorstay Long Wear Enamel in the shade 040 Provence. I apologize for the lighting in the photos. I started to use shutter priority mode on my camera and the pictures were coming out an odd color until I fixed it with the help of a lovely blogger. I had trouble getting a decent shot of my nails which look really bad (usually they look worse! As if a 4 year old painted them!).

040 Provence is a beautiful lavender color. The brush is flat and applies the nail polish smoothly and evenly. Only two coats were needed, and I didn't make a huge mess with this polish.. It doesn't chip easily and accentuates my tan. Revlon also has a lot of other lovely shades which I will be picking up on my next trip to Target or Walgreens. Which nail polishes are your favorite?

Whats In My Bag // Travel Edition

Hello dolls! I thought I'd do a fun post and show what products I took with me when I went to my freshman orientation. Whenever I go somewhere for an extended period of time I always run into the same problem. Overpacking. Yeah, it is better to be safe than sorry, but the lighter I pack the less things I have to carry which makes my life easier because of my back pains. I spent the last few days in a college dorm, and all I can say it is an experience that I do not wish to repeat. The bathroom situation was awful, and I am the type of girl that loves and cherishes privacy so it was not a pleasant time. Here are the cosmetic products I brought with me. I will also mention what I forgot to bring!

As you can tell, I was very selective with what I chose to bring with me. I did not want to lose anything, and also wear a more natural type of makeup look.

  • Real Techniques Crease Brush
  • Kirkland Eyeshadow Brush
  • Real Techniques Buffing Brush
  • Mac 130 Brush
  • Real Techniques Setting Brush

  • Benefits Erase Paste
  • Mac Mineralized SkinFinish Natural
  • Mac Mineralize SkinFinish Soft & Gental
  • Revlon Cream Blush Coral Reef

  • Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
  • Maybelline Falsies Mascara

  • Maybelline Baby Lips - Strike A Rose
  • Maybelline Color Vivid - Vivid Rose

  • Naked Basics Palette
  • Mac Bare Study Paint Pot
I forgot to bring an eyebrow brush with me. I used my eyeshadow brush instead and it was not too bad, but made my brows a bit too thick. Also, a few other eyeshadow brushes would not have hurt. Face wipes would have come in handy because washing my face took a while.I hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know what makeup products are a must in your  travel bag!

Clean and Clear Essentials Foaming Facial Cleanser

Friday, August 23, 2013

Happy Friday! Finally, right? This week actually went by kind of fast for me!

I have finally found the courage to stray away from my Clean and Clear Morning Burst Cleanser, and am now obsessed with the Clean and Clear Essentials Foaming Facial Cleanser. When it comes to drugstore cleansers Clean and Clear never steers me wrong. I've used the brand throughout high school, and continue to repurchase because of its affordable price tag. I'm also paranoid about trying other brands because I tried the Neutrogena Grapefruit Cleanser and it gave me an awful rash resulting in breakouts and redness. For now I am staying with what my skin is comfortable with.

This cleanser is step one of a three step skin care set. I only use the cleanser, and it works perfectly fine by itself. It is oil free so it doesn't not clog pores. I can't put my hand on the scent from the cleanser it reminds of oranges or tangerines, but it also has that sort of medical smell. Not a bad smell more like a sterile smell (if that makes any sense). The smell is pleasant and not overbearing.

When using this cleanser I highly suggest excessively wetting your face prior to cleansing because it can feel a bit dry and rough after if it doesn't lather properly. I love to use it in the shower because it foams really nicely and makes my skin feel incredibly clean. It's not greasy nor does it cause any breakouts for my skin. It is lovely for everyday use. The only downside is that it doesn't remove my eyeliner or mascara that well so I usually take the off before. Aside from that I'd highly recommend this to anyone who may be on a budget because for $5 it is a keeper! What cleanser have you been using?

It is a truth universally acknowledged in the blogging community that there are countless amounts of blogs out there, and mine is no different. I was going to wait until my blog was designed properly before blogging, but I just can't wait I miss it too much! I have been very unsatisfied with my blog and decided recreate it, if that makes any sense. I am still fairly new to this so I thought it wasn't a loss if it started again. Over the last months I plunged into blogging without knowing much about it. For one, I did not put much thought into my blog name which is an important aspect. Now that I have tasted other platforms, and names I find myself returning to good ol' blogger and I'm ready to stay.

The reason I had a previous blog was to sort of trial it. You see, I don't have any hobbies and I wanted to try something new to see if I would like it and stick to it. I really enjoyed blogging because it is a form in which I express my thoughts, and practice my writing. Surprisingly I kept blogging, but I was bothered by my blog's appearance. I am a bit of a perfectionist so when one of my close friends suggested I have it designed properly, I thought why not? I also love interacting with people who share the same interests as me, and feel much more accomplished picking up other hobbies such as shopping, photography, and photoshop. I love that I always have something to do and I am using my spare time for something productive.

This blog will maintain beauty, makeup, fashion, and life posts with occasional book posts. It will be my little haven where makeup and fashion talk are allowed all the time with no judgement. I think about too many things throughout the day and hopefully I can invest those thoughts into this little space on the internet. I went through some dark times at the beginning of this year & right now so I'm glad to be putting my energy in something other than moping around the house.

Here are some oh so uninteresting facts about me:

I love to read. I'm sure you can tell by my Jane Austen-esque intro.
I love to write. Mostly fiction, but I do love blogging about products, and subjects that interest me.
I love cats. I will probably end up alone with many aha.
I am from Southern California. Whoop SoCal!
I am on a path towards a clean lifestyle in terms of health.
As of September 26, I will be a freshman in College! How cool?
I love coffee!

I don't want to give everything away just yet, so you'll have to stick around for more information about me. I hope some of you reading stick around. Cringey first post done!
